Ingredients:
1 lbsGouda cheese
2 tbspButter
1/4 cupFlour
1 1/2 cupMilk
2 tspGarlic, finely chopped
1/8 tspNutmeg
1/4 cupDry white wine
2 tspKirsch
Bread, cubed
Pepper to taste
Procedures:
1Grate the cheese.
2Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour, stirring with a wire whisk.
3Add the milk, stirring rapidly with whisk.
4When blended and smooth, add the garlic, pepper, nutmeg and wine.
5Add the kirsch, if desired.
6Serve hoit with bread cubes for dipping.
7If the sauce is to be used over vegetables, omit the kirsch
